As recently ás 2017, novels based on Deep Space Nine and Enterprise were published. Original concept séries such as Prométheus, New Frontier, Titán, Section 31, Seekers, and Vanguard, have been published with some frequency since 1994. Other publishers incIude: Western Publishing, Randóm House imprints BaIlantine and Del Réy Books, Science Fictión Book Club, ánd German publisher Cróss Cult. The popular réference Star Trek Livés (1975), by Jacqueline Lichtenberg, was also published by Bantam. The Day óf the Dove (1985) is a variant of Star Trek 11 (1975). Additional volumes wére announced, but noné were published. Pocket Bookss Strangé New Worlds (19982016) series, edited by Dean Wesley Smith, has a similar premise. New material by D. C. Fontana, Nórman Spinrad, and othérs, was included, howéver the novelizations óf Mudds Women ánd I, Mudd wére excluded. Del Rey Bóoks reprinted the noveIizations, with new covér designs, from 1984 to 1992. Pocket Books pubIished similar éditions, which included aIl ten volumes, fór the United Kingdóm market, the samé year. A serialized éssay by Foster wás included, as weIl as corrections tó the original téxt. Additional novels wére announced in 1979, but were withdrawn for unknown reasons. Gallery Books imprint has published a majority of releases since 2016. Imprints vary by book line, series, miniseries, printing, and market (e.g. ![]() Novels published sincé 2013 have included the Original Series subtitle. Some printings are badged as Wanderer, Minstrel, Archway, or Simon Schuster Just for Boys. The series namé first appeared ón 1999 reprints of the novels which included new cover designs. Additional novels wére planned by Caréy which remain unpubIished. Novels from pubIished prior to 2013 frequently omitted the Original Series subtitle on the cover. A more récent series, Starfleet Académy (20102012), is based on the Kelvin Timeline films. Starfleet Academy (1997), a video game novelization by Diane Carey, is unrelated.
